Hoops win final friendly

The first team won their final friendly with a 4-1 victory over local side Bridgemarsh yesterday. On a small pitch covered in stones, both sides tried to play the best football they could.

Hoops scored twice in quick succession in the first half. Dan Williams was upended in the box and Nathan Dewberry tucked away the resultant penalty. Williams then scored himself from a Dewberry delivery.
David Collins got on the scoresheet with an uncharacteristic header from a Carl Read cross just before the half ended.
Dewberry added a fourth in the second half from a Collins pass before Bridgemarsh got a goal their play deserved late on.

The Hoops now await their first league fixture at Wellstead Gardens against Leigh Ramblers next Saturday the 26th of August with a 2.30pm kick off.
